My main riders were '81 Yamaha Virago 750, moved to '84 Honda Interceptor 500, to '97 bandit 1200, to '97 CBR1100XX, to '06 ZX10R. Total time from start to finish was around 8 years.

I had lots of bikes in addition to those, but those were my main rides. I think the '84 cepter is still my favorite though. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

I've been riding dirtbikes since I was 10 years old, had a Yamaha exciter 250 road bike when I was like 17-18ish. Built a 1973 Harley Davidson Ironhead sportster XLH 1000 from the ground up in 03-04' but sold it to buy my 2005 CBR600RR which I had for 7 months and put 7200 miles on it before totalling it out riding wheelies. After healing from my multiple surgeries in 06' I bought a 2006 GSXR600 for $7K which I rode for the summer and sold for $7K after 2500 miles, Bought a 2006 Harley davidson Streetbob in 07' and put 8K miles on it, sold it and bought my 2007 ZX-6R in 08' and in 09' I finally moved up to my 08' ZX-10R. My wife now rides the ZX-6R.

Had a 05 gsxr600 For 1yr. traded it for zx10r in 2006!!! Nothing to it, the bike will only do what you ask it!!! You take it easy it will go easy, twist it open hold on all zx10r's are nothing to play with!!!

First bike was a cbr900rr. It's no 10 but still a beast, I think if you just respect it's power and take it easy you can pretty much start on anything

Only long enough to save the coin. Wnt from a GS450L to a KZ1000 with a big bore kit, 36mm flat slides, ported and polished head/intake. Learn or die tryin. That KZ was the first thing I had ever ridin that would actually pull like a freight train. The slides would lean out and bog down until the pump caught up and then you'd better be holdin on.

borrowed a friends 02 r6 a few times in 04,learned on that. then in 05 i bought a 03 zx6rr, had that for 11 months then traded it in for the 10.

I was in no hurry to get on a litre bike. I rode Gixxer 750s from 1995 untill 2004 when the 10r came out, that was my first litre bike. Went thru 2 of those and now I'm on a 600. Go figure.

I'll deffinitely go back some day though.

Rode a honda CBR600F4 for 2 years, RC51 for 2 years, raced a GSXR600 for 2 years, Triumph600 for one, then a Daytona 675 for 2 and now I am racing a zx10r.

Took me 8years of riding and racing 600's before I bought a I4 1000cc bike last season. And I love my ZX10r.

The 10 was my first street bike, but i had a lot of experence. I race pro-moto for F&S Suzuki and Sobe International. I started racing AMA when I was 8. Whitch I bought mine new in 06', even then I found the bike easy to ride. Its has tons of power but the power, but its evenly displaced thought the power range.

started with a 99zx7r, had a couple sv650's mixed in for the track followed by a 05zx6r then a 05/06 r1,2 03 954rr for track and stunt, 07cbr1000rr, 08cbr1000rr, 08gsxr1000, 09zx10r...even had a 650r ninja 07 for the female a good year or two ago...it took me two years before a 1000 came into the picture or maybe 3 haha...I rode dirt bikes since I was about 6-7 years of age though, I truthfully look back at all the bikes I have had over the last few years and think I should of just started on a 1000

It was over 20 years for me between my 1st bike and my 10R. Got my start on 2 wheels with an old Kawi KE-125 a neighbor gave me. It wasn't running at the time, and they said if I got her going then I could keep it. I fixed her up and rode it hard till it fell apart. When I was old enough to ride on the street I got a Yamaha Maxim 550 from a buddy for $500, and rode that and a couple other bikes till I got married. Took a few years off, got a two-fiddy to commute with, then a '99 ZX6R a few months later. Got rid of both and got an '03 ZX6RR. My wife got tired of being uncomfortable on the back and decided to learn to ride on her own, so I got her an '07 650R. Traded my 6RR to get my 10R, and then bought another 6RR a few months later, and here we are today. Now I'm finally happy with what's in the garage.

Somewhere in all that I picked up an old '97 ZX-600R. What a throwback I guess but it was a good little 600 for me. Didn't really mod it too much but rather maintained it and worked on it...a trainer bike I guess. Changed out plastics, painted rims/ new this / new that..little stuff up to valve adjustments. I would surprise many people with it and it was very flickable with it's tiny rims and tires. Gets good gas mileage too and was pretty comfortable, but way too small for me. My GF now own's it. Then on to the '04 ZX-10R. I have had it for a bit now, but am going to be modding the shit outta it so it won't be done for a while yet. It is all the bike I will ever need. But I still want to own more bikes...and ride more bikes!
