I use my 10 for drag racing. This past weekend it wouldn't go past 7K rpms with the clutch in. If you let the clutch out a little it would go past 7K, but then it was hard to control the rpms. It sounds as if it's hitting rev limiter at 7K. A couple people looked at the bike. We were able to duplicate the problem the first time, but the second time the bike went past 7K without any problems. The bike was up to temp each time. Anyone know what it might be?

Possibly a pinched fuel line. Have you had the tank off, or even up lately?

I know the 3rd gens have a ridiculously tight bend in the fuel line directly under the tank. Very easy to pinch.

I've also seen a loose ground wire cause this same type of problem.

As the rpms rise, the loose connection causes the cut out to get worse. Seems exactly like a rev limiter.
