Welcome back home!
I've found this to be the most friendly forum by far. What was it about the r1 you didnt like?Hello old pals!
I left the community back in 2010ish as I decided to try out the new S1K and then Ducati. When the new R1 came out, I sold my 1198 and scooped one up, it was my first and ultimately last Yamaha I will ever own. Yesterday I decided it was time to come back to good ol team green. I picked up a 16 non-abs though I haven't taken delivery just yet. I am going to read as much as possible but I am stoked to throw a leg over this machine. The great thing I have always enjoyed about Kawasaki is the ease of kit parts and the interchangeability between all of those parts. Back in my CMRA days I was on a tight budget! My goal with this bike is to keep it on the street for the spring and then turn it into a track-day winner (insert sarcasm). I look forward to meeting you all though I see a few old names from the 06 days!

The only problem with R1's are all the parts they put in them are designed by Yamaha engineers. :grin2:What was it about the r1 you didnt like?
Now here's a name I haven't seen since the Rogue days! Lord Duck Hunter himself! Absolutely correct with the Yamaha statement. Couple that with a crappy recall, flash tuning issues (too long of a story to get into) and horrible local customer service and I decided it was time to part ways. I spent the past 4 months or so without a bike and when it came to purchase I was considering the Ninja or an RC8R track only bike. Most local dealers are blowing out the 16s now so it was a great deal. I'm excited to be back and it seems like KHI is serious about supporting racers again. The only problem with R1's are all the parts they put in them are designed by Yamaha engineers. :grin2:
Finally picked her up today
