Gen5 Knock-off Seat cowl AVOID!!!!!!
Finally the muppets in china have made a seat cowl for the gen5.
I brought it as soon as one came available on ebay at 43 uk pounds as opposed to 215 pounds for genuine one.
Big mistake.
It actually looks quite nice and even has ninja written on the seat pad but thats all thats good.
It just doesnt fit.
Massive gap at the back and gap at front yet its really tight in the middle.
Its the wrong colour as you would expect from these muppets and to top it all off its stuck on my bike.
Im sure i will be able to break it off but awaiting sellers response.
Buy genuine!!!!!

The supplier of that seat cowl on ebay will do back flips to fix your problem!if hes a high sales ebay lister will be petrified just the thought of negative feedback!Im pretty sure you will be refunded!you can then use that cowl as a internal rear cover hugger extension to save crap intering in the gap!your skills should be able to make it fit!hopefully they dont want it back
Ive already got a cover for the gap! I have stripped it tonight and done some investigation and it needs a fair bit of modifying. The bracket isnt in the right place. The hole is too small on the bracket so it jams on the bike. The cowl can be bent to look fairly close but im not sure how to keep it in that position as its under alot of pressure. I bought one for the ninja 300. It was $28 lol. It fits but the color isn't quite right. You can tell that if it were to be subjected to extreme conditions (parked outside every day in the sun) the color and rubber would not hold up. But really it is to be expected given the price. I am glad you posted this because I was in the fence of getting one for the zx10. I will most likely get an oem one. But If i can find one under $40 I may roll the dice.

As of yet i may get a refund so i dont want to name the seller coz its not right.
What i would say is these are usually all manufacturered in the same place and just distributed by different sellers so i expect they will all be the same. They are made from white platic and i believe this is the wrong type of plastic as its bowed after its been made. Im gonna see if i can bend it back but the sun will probably warp it again

whats the mounting bracket look like?
My question is why? just ride that bike.
Had the same experience when I bought mine for the gen2...color was good, fit sucked and never ended up using it...

Had a factory cowl for my Gen 2 . Fitment sucked and I had to "massage" the bracket to make it fit properly.
I sucked it up and got a genuine solo cowl couple months ago... really not worth the headache buying a knockoff... save up and just get oem.

and gave him the part number (2016 zx10R Metallic Matte Carbon Gray/51B Part# 99994-0667-51B) and told him I got his info from this forum. I was able to save a few bucks ($180 Shipped). The solo cowl was on backorder for a few weeks but I eventually I received it!
I have the knock off...fit is Perfect...color is bit off...but no one was able to tell if i did not say anything....and its close enough. Id rather spend $55 for cowl and $20 for paint if i wanted it to really match.
