Hi.
I will do my 15k miles valve clearence ckeck soon and I have some questions.

1. Will I loose power if I put the race int camshaft on my stock comp motor?
2. Is it better to just degree the stock cams?
3. What's the (measured) truth stock ex camshaft lobe center 104 or 107.5?
4. Did anyone of you see gains from tuning each cylinder separately? ( mwr sbk filter and velocity stacks are on the way)
5. What's your cam degree numbers advice on either camshaft selection?

My bike is flashed dyno tuned with arrow full titanium exhaust and kN race filter.

3. 107.5 by spec. see service manual snip below. Measured 100% accurate would be somewhat engine specific. (chain stretch, tolerances etc.)
4. Although a difference in fuel requirement is expected even for a inline 4, it`s not very common for the average joe to do this because of the effort and cost vs potential gains. Probably not many people with experience here.

I can only speculate on the others, so I won`t ;)

google gen 4 zx10 cam timing, under zx10r.net there are measured and factual results that will answer ur questions. i have limited experience with these cams and degreeing them but with .45mm hg and head deck .015-.020. can easily lose more power than gained on stk motor.

Gen4 race int cam on stock comp engine

google gen 4 zx10 cam timing, under zx10r.net there are measured and factual results that will answer ur questions. i have limited experience with these cams and degreeing them but with .45mm hg and head deck .015-.020. can easily lose more power than gained on stk motor.
All these questions came after reading all of these threads.
Didn't see anyone changing cam timing on stock motor.
I will see if there is any gain with velocity stacks and mwr sbk air filter.
Then while checking the valve clearance will check the stock cam timing.
My thoughts are to keep the stock cams and degree them to 110 108.

From the spec i posted above you should expect to be at 112/107.5 stock. With 110/108 you might be going in the direction of less peak hp and shifting the powerband lower from lsa tightening and intake advance.

According to race manual stock cam timing is 112 104 and at service manual is 112 107.5 that's why I asked what's the true (measured) cam timing in gen4.

So the time for valve clearence check has come.
And also the time for stock cam timing measure.
My engine is stock never oppened before with 22000kms.

Intake valve clearance 0.22mm
251 degrees camshaft duration @ 1mm
114.5 degrees lobe center

Exhaust valve clearance 0.20mm
247 degrees camshaft duration @ 1mm
103.5 degrees lobe center

So what cam degrees you guys suggest if I put the 0.50mm head gasket and the race intake camshaft?
