have seen even the good brand go wrong.... I just dont trust them...
If you are changing a lot buy a kit that retains the spacers in place, cheap 55usd, and a kit that retains the rear caliper holder 150usd.
I just dont see the advantage of a simple thing making it weight more and more complex.
Indeed. I just ordered captive spacers and the caliper bracket from FastFrank.
For me, getting the rear wheel installed takes more time than adjusting the chain slack after a tire or gearing change. Wheel spacers falling out, the caliper bracket getting out of alignment... Ugh :headshake:
After a Google search, they don't seem to fail the way I had anticipated. Apparently the adjuster bolt that sticks out the back either snaps or rips the threads out of the adjuster which allows the wheel to slam forward, usually popping the chain off, sometimes it gets a little more animated (chain snaps, busts engine case...)
Yeah, I think I'll stick with the stock adjusting system. Not as blingy but it hasn't let me down.
