GEN1 10R project, It's ALIVE!!

Hey all, just about done with my GEN1 project.
History:
This 2005 bike came off the track, laid over, body work trashed, the works. I picked it up cheap and planned to overhaul it, and put it on the street for a weekend warrior. I have always had a soft spot for the GEN1, as most of you can relate.

Anyway, here it is.
Check out the Chinese body work! WOW, must say I got lucky, everything was of high quality and for sure a better fit than expected. The plastics are thick and OEM like, matched up where needed, and the paint job was flawless! The company I chose let me customize the work to my liking, sending them high res photos of logo's and what not, getting everything dialed in before they built and sprayed. Came out absolutely awesome.

The bike came with a LEO VINCE SBK high mount exhaust, but it was toooo long. I cut it down and stubbied it along with the mounting bracket, and man I am glad I did. Looks so much better, and the sound is just BLISS.

I retro-fitted a complete set of 2014 ZX14R Red NISSIN front brakes, the whole sha-bang. Calipers, new pads, used the master cylinder and all. Added red shorty levers and very happy overall, so much better braking up front, as expected. Added a rear Galfer stainless line, new pads, and now the brakes are perfect.

Another much needed project was the damper. I lowered the front down just a notch to fit a 50mm fork tube clamp, and installed a re-valved 2010 ZX10R OHLINS steering damper, and it works like a charm. Could not be happier.

Just have to get my new tires mounted up, and I will call it done.
Already put some miles on it, after I dialed in the suspension and got everything in place. MAN, the GEN1 is nothing short of BEAST.

Holy mid range!!!!

The plastics look good for chinese, what brand/seller?

Is the damper mount to the frame from the Gen 3 10r also? That's a pretty neat set up and inexpensive I would think.
Seller is FairingsPlus. I originally found their store on Ebay but then went through them directly, via their online store and email system.
Yeah, the whole damper setup is from the 3rd GEN 10R. Bracket and all....
With the 50mm fork clamp it bolted right up.
I have $150 into the whole install.
Can't beat it, for sure...
Thanks. yeah, I got rolling with the color scheme and kept moving. I think it came out great. Love the red accents, it pops on the green.
Very happy overall.
Had NO IDEA what a beast the first GEN was, holy geeeesis.

Sick power, available everywhere.
Good times....
Looking good man. Them gen1's are some fun bikes to ride... enjoy!

Thx, appreciate it.
They sure are. I mean I have read all about the first GEN antics, but had no idea how BEAST the bike actually was.
Monster power on tap. And this Leo pipe is working wonders, through the whole rpm range.
Loving it, much fun...... :deathmetal:
Damn that Leo Vince stubbied sounds good!
I just can't stop grinning.....
Loving my GEN1.
Sharp zx10r.....................all it needs is later model gauge cluster.
