Gen 6 Kit Electronics

I've been considering getting a 21+ ZX10 as my next race bike, mainly because they are cheap and most all of my Gen 5 parts will fit, but have heard that people have had problems with the electronics. Main things I've heard are the following. Some race teams have had problems tuning out a choppy throttle at low inputs when you're just getting back on the throttle, the bike tends to lunge and is not smooth. Wheelie control either doesn't work or cuts power to the point that it needs to be turned off. The electronics behave differently from weekend to weekend and are just generally inconsistent, for example the TC intervenes sometimes but other times not in the same corner.

I did talk to a few people about this, Corey Alexander and Michael Gilbert both said they've experienced this stuff, Michael said it was bad to the point that they had issues setting up the chassis because it was so inconsistent, Corey said he was able to ride around most of the issues. These are just two examples.

But I've also heard other guys haven't really had any issues, so I'm not really sure what to think. I hear Graves has "solved" the issues, but another fast guy said he tried everything they had and it was all shit (in his words). Any insight would be appreciated.

I saw you post this on 13x, did you get any good info that isn't too private to share?
I'm going to let DDK respond in "public" if he wants to, and if so I will share here, but basically he agrees there are issues and there are not any complete solutions available yet. Graves has been working on it but doesn't have anything ready for sale yet, I have a message out to Chuck and haven't heard back.

The Gen 6 throttle sucks but Chris Moore from MooreMafia disables the fuel cut off on his tunes, From the factory when you let off the throttle it cuts the fuel & when you resume throttle the bike jumps forward. Chris disables it & makes the bike transition off to on throttle way smoother but when he does that you can't use the auto blipper on downshift, upshift works great. The reason why you can't use the auto blip on downshift is the fuel injectors are spitting a little fuel when off throttle so when you auto blip on downshift it makes the bike jumps forward so when you downshift you just use the clutch.

I don't know about the TC because I've never owned a bike that had it so I ride with it off.
We initially fixed the snatchy throttle by retarding two cylinders like it advised in the race manual, but later had better results with adjusting the ETV map. It takes a while to sort out the WHL (wheelie), TCS (traction), EBCL (engine brake/run in) and ETV (throttle percentage) values, but once you do, it is a much better bike to ride.
