Gen 1 clutch issue

Just built my gen1. Brand new clutch fibers, very clean clutch steels. And a brand new falicon billet basket. Put 150 miles on the bike on sunday. I noticed on decell intermitently the clutch was hanging up for half a second or so when i downshifted. I pulled the basket out last night. It looked like all the fibers had two days of drag racing on them. I turned the oil pump over by hand, im getting oil through the hole that oils the basket. The hub is immaculate and its not causing the plates to "hang up". The only thought i have is that my new falicon basket doesnt have slots like the stock basket does in the center. Anyone have any ideas? A friend of mine seems to think i got a bad set of oem fibers from kawi because the manufacturers marks are diff. My new ones said "a25" old ones say "a27"

Well, I'm confused. When the "clutch hangs up" for half a second, do you mean the lever? Or the actual clutch? The lever activates the pressure plate. That is separate from the individual clutch plates inside. I think there's about a 0.000002% chance of you getting a "bad set of oem fibers", especially since that has nothing to do with the pressure plate.

Does the Failicon basket have a slipper clutch? Is it a lock up clutch? Did you replace the throw out bearing and actuator rod? Are they worn out? What springs are you using?
When i pull the lever all the way to the handlebar the revs do not immediately drop but its intermitent, not every time. The basket is the same as stock. Just billet. It retains stock hub, stock pressure plate, everything. Everything inside the clutch pack looks brand new..
When you installed the clutch did you soak the fibers before installing? Also make sure the sharp edges are pointing out on the steels.
I did soak them. And the sharp edges are facing out
One thing i noticed was that when i pulled the basket out of the bike and turned the oil pump by hand i wasnt getting oil into the hole on the shaft that oils the basket from the inside. And i started to get oil in it after i spun the pump in the opposite direction and then forward. Is it possible to have an air pocket in the oiling system or maybe something blocking it because the motor was just assembled?
It is possible. I had my Gen 1 fall over in the pits at track day and it created some sort of airlock. I had to burp the filter(thanks Skydork) and then the oil light went off. Kind of weird. I would double check your stack height just to be sure. Did you check the steels and make sure none are warped.

Yes, they arent warped. My oil light was not on though. The rest of the engine had to have been getting oil because my oil light wasnt on and i did 150 miles. It woulda siezed if i had no oil. I didnt check the stack height.
I would double check the stack height. That usually causes slow disengagement of the clutch. Just wonder if the billet basket has changed the stack height just a bit. According to the fiche you need 8 friction part number 13088A-0013 and 2 friction part number 13088-003 make sure the fibers are not all the same part number.

10000% the frictions are correct. Honestly its the symptoms of the thread titled "grabby sticky clutch" but after 150 miles? Maybe take the fibers out and soak them in oil for a few hours. But that doesnt make sense to me. I never assemble a clutch dry. Never had an issue dunking them in oil before assembly.
My Gen 1 when I had oem fibers was very grabby. I would start the bike up and let it warm up to get the oil up to temp. Even with the oil warm when i pulled in the clutch and put it in gear it would kill the motor. Replaced the fibers with an ebc clutch kit. No more problems. Could be the oem fiber plates and you just have to live with it or change to aftermarket fibers.

Stack height is .025 too tall. Possible cause??

Here's what the Kawi service manuel says. Your were very positive that the fibers were all correct. I would look at the steels and check to see if their warped if not check the part number for all your fibers and make sure their not all the same part number. Those are the easiest things to check first.
