I currently run a 16/47 on my 1/8th mile bike, Im switching to a 15/45 this week and gonna test that. will that be enough gear to get through the 1/4 mile. I run 1/8th mile weekly but attend 1/4 mile events monthly. anyone run a 15/45 in the 1/4?

I'd ask cookmaster30, or pm him...he runs some pretty wild Times in the 1/4 and has tried many different gearing combos

Not enough info to answer whether it is enough gear for the 1/4. We need to know what your typical trap speeds are.

For reference, at 16/46 I was banging the limiter at 147 and your proposed 15/45 would hit the limiter at a slightly lower mph.

quickest 1/8th mile so far is a 6.13 at 117mph. i know some run a 15 on the front so was gonna try that this week to run the 6.0 class.

would the 15/45 be good for the 1/8th. I have just about the same numbers as you in the 60 and the 330. but then end up about a 6.15 to 6.20 in the 1/8th Thats with the 16/47.

15/45 will be a good gear for the 1/8 but youll probly run out of gear for 1/4. i run 15/41 and cross the 1/8 mile traps in top of 3rd gear and @62in she's a handfull  you'll love the 15t man it woke my bike up like crazy :eyecrazy:
