My bike came with R1 calipers and ZX14 rotors which for some reason, kept pulsing while braking hard. They were sanded down when I got the bike and the pulse got worse as I rode. Sanded them down again but it was still there.

Found a steal on the Galfer 320mm rotors so I got them. This is where it gets interesting. Since they are 320 vs 310, I figured I needed 5mm spacers. Mounted it all up and the pads were sitting at the VERY edge of the rotor. Rode around for about 50 miles and decided that just wasn't gonna cut it. Called Galfer and the tech said they were fine as is but I could move them in if I wanted.

Looked around for something in the 2-3mm range for spacers and ended up having to use Stainless steel washers which mic out to ~2.3mm. Pads sit perfect now and the swept area is just about 1mm from the inside wave on the rotor.

Just an FYI for someone that might run into this in the future.

if the brakes are pulsating, turn one of the rotors one rotor bolt rotation. this should cure the pulsation.
