Hey guys,
Just to brag a little  I was looking for a oil catch tank for my G1, there was a guy who had one for sale a long time ago and I couldn't find another one anywhere...
But I'm not the kind of guy who just give up and I wanted that tank!
So I decided to build it myself, I learned how it works, took the measurements for it off the bike and follow almost the same design of the OEM one.
I'll be damn, I think it actually looks better :)
I attached some pic's but it's not finished... so take a look at this ones for now and I'll post some pic's of the finished product in a few days.

That's awesome. NIce to see someone able to fabricate items for their Gen1. I made a lot of things in solidworks that I thought would be cool. Unfortunately I found out that actually making the things I created in SW was rather expensive to do. I tried to sneak making a chain guard using the schools CNC machine once...but I got reprimanded.

How does that oil catch tank work? I have seen them before, I just never inquired why they are necessary. I am assuming it is for race applications. :dontknow:
Bro, send me your designs and let me see, maybe I can do it for you all you'll have to pay is for the materials I'll use and the shipping... labor is free of charge because I have some free time on my hands and I like fabricating things, if it's cool stuff I'll be happy to do it...
I'm not working with SolidWorks (simply because I don't know how to work with it yet) I use DraftSight and cut it with a laser machine, the rest is welding and grinding.
But if you do send me some designs don't send me a file, send me a sketch with all the dimensions.

The oil catch tank is for racing use and it's very simple.
It filters the air coming out of the engine breather hole with oil vapors by condensing with aluminium mesh filter that spreads the heat very quickly and the temperature difference does all the rest...

Make on for a gen 4. The only one available is $500 from the UK.

I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one intersted.
I'll look into it... you can save me some time and send me the web where you found it.

In the mean time hear is some pic's of the first oil catch tank I did from stainless (didn't grind it yet) and the aluminium bracket for it.
Why am I making another one? because I'm trying to shave 150gr from it by making it from aluminium as well.
If you wondering what is that B.C.M on the bracket, is my business name...

I would like to buy one if you are selling them. :) Not that I probably really need one...but I read up on them and they prolong engine life when installed. I plan on keeping my Gen1 forever....so, the longer I keep the motor in good shape the better. :)
Sure, no problem... I'll need to work out a price for it first, it's quite a lot of work...
The first one I made was out of stainless steal but a guy already said that he wants to buy it..
I'll work out two prices for it, one from Aluminium (weights 360g) and one from stainless (weights 520g).
I can tell you right now that the Aluminium one is going to be almost twice the price because it's a lot harder to make and it takes longer.

For all you guys out there with the G1, if you are interested in this oil catch tank send me a message, the more I'll do the cheaper it's gonna to be...

Ok, for now these are the prices:
For the Aluminium one $125
For the stainless one $75
shipping is out of Israel, cost somewhere between 15-20 bucks and takes around 14-20 days from my experience.

is there a chance to make one for the gen3 ?
I think so... I'll search the race manual for the gen 3 and see if I can make one for you.
There was a guy that asked me if I can make one for gen 4 but the one friend I had with the gen 4 sold the bike and I've got to have the bike next to me so I can make it fit properly.
That being said, I do have friends with gen 3 so it wouldn't be a problem.
once I have the answer for you I'll post it here.

Well, I have no problem to do it for any bike I have near me or if you guys send me dimensions for the tank I can do it by the specs you need, including the inlet, outlet and the mounting bracket.
For now all I have is the specs for the gen1.

It was a long time ago when I did mine.
I'll be at the workshop tomorrow and I'll try to find the laser file's for you.
But can you weld Aluminum?
And you'll need to have access to brake press...
