Nice helmet, but it's pretty much past its usable lifespan for safe use.
Although most bikers know this, some may not.
I'm not attempting to argue just for the sake of it, but it is irrefutable fact that EPS (expanded polystyrene) helmet liner material can degrade within just the presence of hydrocarbon vapors.
Add human sweat acidity levels and wear and tear of helmet components over the years of use and you'll find that the false economy of protecting your most valuable body part with a used helmet to be a poor decision.
My friend just had an accident Saturday night. The doctor told him he'd be OK despite a broken hip. He said, "Don't worry about all that (body parts), we can rebuild it. It's the head injuries that worry us. There's very little we can do with a series head injury besides control the swelling, etc. It's impossible to repair brain damage."
