On 22/6 I had a big accident on the road wich I am still recovering from.
My bike I only had for 5-6 months was totalled and I ended up in the hospital with broken neck still wearing a brace today 24/7.
In the meantime I sold my old trackbike k5 gixxer 1000 I had for over 5 years for funds rebuilding the zx10r to track.

Today the bike is about 80-90 procent ready.

damage after accident;
-tank badly dented it even cut into the lid of my airbox
-all the farings are broken every single piece except the seatcover and some pieces on the tail.
-headlights-ramair-fairing stay all smashed to bits
-left and right clipon broken of and the right footpeg needs replacing
-akrapovic silencer a small scrape and a little mark on the linkpipe
-radiator shroud missing some pieces brake reservoir was missing and one tab of the speedo broke of but is still useable.
-front wheel damaged missing a chunk of the rim and some scratches in fork leg and frame

When the bike left the dealer after getting a quote for repair it looked twisted and bent so a frame was also in the quote of repair bill making a total repair cost of 14 000€ idk in dollars but a lot  :surprise:

When I got home I released tension on al frame/engine mounts and removed the front end an re assembled.
After this the bike looked pretty straight but to be sure I whent to a place who had laser equipment to measure frames/forks/triples/wheels subframe and so on.
Good news the frame is in tolerance spec and no sign of fractures at the front end where the triple goes only the front wheel has a slight wobble the rest should be good to go.
:smile2:

before the accident the bike already had a lot of nice mods besides repairing what needed to be repaired I also added some extra bling/go fast parts.
-K tech dds pro rear schock with MSS linkage
-Found a nice set of used DYMAG upx7 wheels with HPK discs from brembo
-Blipper/shifter from IRC used
-Some parts from fast frank making wheel changes a lot less frustrating including undermount caliper bracket and a nice cf tankcover from SE composites
-Gb racing covers some explo safe in tank / keyless fuelcap and wrapped my airbox

Thx happy with how it turned out this week wanted to flush the coolant to put engine ice in.
First time I filled the tank with fuell and it has a small leak where the bolt threads in right side of the frame.
Its getting welded now...
Bike is a LOT lighter than stock I put it on the scale with 10l of fuel and was only 180kg/396lbs.
And the bike still has the stock wiring loom and key ignition/stock subframe stock chain and metal sprockets so could be a lot lighter if I did some more mods I will do a 520 conversion later think I will go with 2 extra links and 16/40 or 17/40 gearing for the very fast tracks but 16/40 has plenty topspeeed already I dont think I will need 17 a lot and longer chain helping to get the front tyre to the ground,

first test bike runs good no leaks but for some reason the fan does not come on when the bike reaches high coolant temp.
I just removed the fan for even more weight savings lol I did not run a fan on my suzukig k5 trackbike to and never got to hot just keep an ey on the temp when you have to wait at side of the track for a long time just kill the engine.
Also removed the ignition switch just keeped the keyring/reader and key and will install a killswitch type thing to the other connector.
Also ordered a different simple cheap/compact start/stop switch because I want more room on the right clipon tube.
And I made my own quick action throttle with parts I already had laying around r6 throttle tube and gen 1 zx10 throttle housing modified with dremel for clearance with bigger throttle cam.
works just fine with stock throttle cables.

Tom the bike looks amazing and I bet it rides as good as it looks. I do hope your back to 100% health now with no long term effects from the accident.

Outstanding job on the rebuild. Take it slow and allow your body to heal properly though. The track will still be there bro. You don't want lingering issues from rushing back.
