Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the difference between a Flywheel on the Gen 3 and a Gen 4, they look the same but have different part numbers,

Thanks for the reply, I might have got the terminology wrong, the part i meant is the rotor 21007

Yeah that's the alternator rotor, not the flywheel.

They have different part numbers because something is different on them. It could be off by a millimeter in diameter in the outside dimension, inside dimension, width, or on the attachment collar. Considering the G4 is a completely different engine than the G3 was, I doubt they are backwards compatible because of some small change in them.

Thanks for your help guys, the bike had been 'down the road' and i noticed it wasnt charging. On removing the stator cover i could see the stator coils were damaged and also the plastic part at the bottom of the rotor. I think a bit has broken off the inside of the cover and done the damage to these.
There seem to be plenty of Gen 4 rotors about but not many Gen 3 hence my question
