Hey everyone,

Had my first ever run at the local strip today and have to say that is such an adrenaline rush. Definitely gonna be doing some more in the future.

Here are some links to my best times

This one is 11.3ish i think

My fastest of the day at 10.99 against a Gen4

Was pretty happy with that result, I know with more practice i could definitely get faster as im pretty slow off the line, but my goal was to get a high 10s so im happy.

Also managed to win a spot prize of a set of Bridgestone BT003's so all in all a pretty epic day for me

You get better the more practice you get. It's an addiction, trust me. I'm sure all the other 10 owners would agree!

Why is 1st gear a downfall for the 1st gen?

Cheers for the replies guys.

Yeh first gear does seem pretty long, but makes me feel less likely to flip haha, thinking of going to the night drags here this Friday and having another go.

Want to try and get my launch better and try and head towards mid 10s then maybe look at mods that will be useful at the track and the strip as i still love the curves

Get you a strap and some adjustable links for the back if you haven't already. Then you can lower for thestrip and raise it back up for the curves.

First gear on the first gens is the tallest first gear in any liter bike. It's 104 mph at the rev limiter. Totally kills it for the drag strip..

Don't leave really low. If your stock gear and you leave at a really low rpm it's gonna take FOREVER to get into the power. You need to leave around 6-7k unless you like doing wheelies. A lot of guys are scared of wheelies out of the hole and when you get up to leaving around 8-9k it's gonna be pretty wheelie prone ad sometimes it'll stand straight up in a blink. Just practice man. You'll do fine once you get the hang of it

Low 10s is about the best you can get out of a stock 1st gen. I had a cbr and it would run 10 flat because it had less power and would not wheelie as bad.

When I first bought my 10. The first time I went to the strip I had a strap and a slip on and went a 9.9X my 2nd pass. Ended up Goin a [email protected] sitting the same. Then lowered it about 1.5in and that fall went a [email protected] It's definitely possible to get down there in the 9's. it's just not that easy compared to a Suk.
