Made it to the strip today, 70 degrees, low humidity and the sun shining. It was the first time this year for me, I got a few things ironed out in the first few passes. I'm 6'7" a 237 lbs suited, the best time

60 ft 1.49
330 ft 4.04
1/8 6.17
114.49 mph

made 10 passes all ranging from 6.17-6.43 and 112.27-114.52, most of them fell at the 6.20 to 6.26 range
08 ZX10R, pcv (dyno tuned), open exhaust, open air box, M/T tire, -3 +3 sprockets, secondary butterflies removed, shift light, clutch mod

I'm still messing with the gearing and the bike in general (always run harley's before), just got the bike in September of last year. I'll hit the next test n tune with hopefully 2 other front sprockets and just try stuff. I found out yesterday that leaving at 9000 rpms wasn't working for me but 7200 was giving me the best 60ft time and lowering the shift light to 12,200 was working best also. It's a good time.

What gearing are you guys using and having luck with and what gear are you in when crossing the 1/8 mile. I'm just banging 5th when i cross the line. Like i said I'm 6'7" and 237 lbs suited. I ran it last year with 17/41 and 14/41 and ran 15 passes with 14/41 from 6.40-6.47.

I'm swb right now (looking to stretch it or strut it and run bars), no offense taken about the weight, I realize it gonna take a bit to get me moving because of that, it wheelied a little but never seemed to bog. Like I said I found that leaving at 7200 was helping my 60ft time but maybe it was bogging and I just didn't realize it.

Man with that much gear, the only reason your bike is going to bog is if you let off the throttle. If you gear a little taller if might actually help you. If you stretch your bike with that gear I think it would run pretty good, but gear it a little taller and I bet you run faster swb.

Thanks for the replies, like I said I'm still messing with it looking for what works best for me. Next test n tune I'm hoping to have a couple more sprockets front and rear and test them out. The reason I started -3 + 3 is because of my weight but like I said I'll try different things just to see if they work for me.

You are doin good man! But if your not bogging and your wheeliein a bit, I think taller gear would help you. I know you want to go through your gears when your racing. But to be able to go all the way through 5th in an 1/8th mile your spending most your time shifting. Taller gear puts down more mph which I think will help you.

Well magma I'm running 14/44 right now, what would you suggest. Like I said I'm up for trying anything to help improve the time.
How long of stretch are you running zx racer, I was thinking of strutting it and running bars sense I already have them, just have to fab some mounts.

im stretch 8 over... you could try a 15t or 16t on the front since there easy to change out. i think that will help bring your mph up some and bring your times down.

I would try 15/44 if I were you and see where it is. Man don't run a wheelie bar. Just stretch it and you'll have a blast! Plus once you stretch it, you'll be able to leave quite a bit harder than you are now.

I'll try the 15 tooth front and see what happens, the only time i run the bike is at the strip, I have insurance but no plates on it, I said that to ask what kind of oil are you guys using. Brocks pushes the Alisyn less than zero weight, I've always used Lucas in my other drag bikes and had good luck. What do you have luck with?
