How hot do you think the strap holding my exhuast would get?

Reason being, im thinking about painting it with plasti dip and it can be used in up to 200°F conditions. :dontknow:

I think it will get over 200, esp since you're not using a carbon can. I would just do matte black grill paint. Maybe there is an aerosol herculiner or rhino liner if you want the texture.

Where is the silicone strap that goes under it?

Looks like it needs adjusted as well... NO offense, its the OCD mechanic in me...

yeah I think that stuff will prob just melt off and make a mess, I tried some high temp silicone on my exhaust once and it just got all hard and flaked off or rather burnt off... id just do like someone else said and paint it black and or find the silicone strap that fits under it..

Yeah i do not have the silcone/plastic strap that goes under it.

I bought a carbon fiber one but it doesnt quite fit. If anyone wants it...

Yeah it also could use some adjusting, i really just need a new one. but have had very little luck. anyone know where i could find one?


The reason i was debating the plasti dip in the first place is the rubberness of it, so it will quite scarpin up my exhaust anymore than it allready has.

I say go for it. Whats the worst that can happen?. If it doesn't work you can just sand it off. If it gets crap all over your can, oh well.... your can needs to be polished anyway.

It's an FMF. i looked on their site with no luck. ill see if i can get somewhere over the phone.

Truthfully I say do it, guys the can doesnt look like its in the best shape, truthfully if your uncertain about it just get it powder coated if anything and that can should be between 200-500 degrees depending on what it is made out of!!!

Bummer, I wonder if another manufactures strap would work. My Yosh looks similar, you would have to measure the diameter of the can.

Just measured my RS3, it is 14.25" diameter. If your can is the same size (or reasonably close), Im sure it would be better than what you have.
