Engine Light Issue

Hi everyone. This is my first post here, so I apologize if this is in the wrong section, or this has been answered before.

I am a new owner of a 2016 zx10r, I put about 700 miles on it so far. I upgraded from my 2008 zx6r, and i love it.

So today, i installed an integrated tail light. While doing this, i removed my battery. When I finished installing the tail light, i put the battery back in, but i may have messed up the connection because i blew a fuse. Easy fix, i installed a new fuse and the bike started no problem.

However, the engine light, as well as the caution light came on. The tail light works fine, and the bike still runs amazing, but everything on the display screen continues to flash.

I did read you can clear this error, but how do i know i dont have a bigger problem? But like i said, the bike runs great.

It might be worth mentioning that a week ago i installed a k and N filter. But that was a week ago and I have had no problems until i was finished with the tail light installation (today).

Well, i hope someone can lead me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Sean

As Victors so aptly put it, no one can help you until you pull the FI code causing the error. And there's also no way to reset the light until the problem is fixed and the ignition goes through several cycles and it stays fixed for 10 minutes after you let it idle for more than 30 seconds, then ride it more than 25mph for more then 5 minutes. Then turn it off and do it all again 3 times. Woohoo!

And why would you pull the battery out when changing the taillight that plugs and unplugs?

If the instrument cluster doesn't finish the complete self-test properly, then you have a problem with the cluster itself.
