Working on a race bike build list. Got all the standard stuff covered: fairings, rearsets, case covers, clip-ons, gearing, exhaust, rear shock, lines pads and etc...

Other items:

So far I have read about the ECU reflash which is very interesting.

What is being done about the front forks? 30mil cart kits? piston kits with springs?

Do any of the previous year wheels fit?

What full exhaust systems are seeing the best mid power increase?

SMOG system removal and block off plate? Required?

Any stock exhaust interface equipment that is a concern with removal?

Ohlins Damper update to race level? Cost, Parts and instructions

Paint codes for the current Kawi Green

Any help would be great. I'm new to Kawi's

Any help would be great. I'm new to Kawi's
1. I'm using Kit Ecu, this way you get to adjust the timing, fuelling, engine braking, traction control etc. etc - I think this a better solution in long term for racing but with the re-flash you get bike working as it should with the set-up you have.

2. The STD big piston Showa can be used also for racing with minor mods but I chose to use the Öhlins for easier maintenance + setting

3. This I haven't tried, I chose to use the STD '11 rims

4. I think with this bike the exhaust you use won't make that much of a difference. Timing changes + secondary valves operation + fuelling is the key IMO

5. Required, maybe not. Most of race bikes get rid of it anyways, there are some gains.

6. I just ripped the exhaust out with all the accessories, if you use STD Ecu + STD harness you might get a few FI errors but they all have fail-safe functions which will just give rigid values to the ECU to compensate. It should still work fine as is. Dunno if these can be addressed with the re-flash or not?

7. I just bought a race-spec damper... others have re-valved them - works fine.

8. Kawi does not give out the paint-codes, IMO any decent painter will get the color right / close enough from the paint manufacturers.

I think its more about gearing than the exhaust but I'm sure someone with a 4th gen will tune in

you can do it or throw a marble in the tube

servo? fi light?

send it out, or go the cheap route and change the oil in it

Thanks for the feedback.

It was noted Garth tested wheel fitment from other years. Is there a list?

Think I will do the ECU Flash and maybe Race upgrade.

Bike should be here soon! I will start a build thread when it comes.
