I got the bike on a dyno this Sat. I was happy with a reading of 152.7 HP and air to fuel ratio of 17.5. I'm not sure what the air to fuel means but the guy said it was good but could be better.

The bike is 100% stock:thumbsup:

I have the paper right here but I can't scan in the results right now. I should get it by the end of the week. The guy on the dyno said the bike didn't skip a beat:cool:

nice, you should defintly get a power commander and have it tuned, evenm stock there is alot to be gained......17.5 is actually pretty damn lean but I guess stock they run kinda lean but damn that is real lean, r u sure it was 17.5??? could it have been 13.5? or 12.5?

I got the paper work here and it says "max AIR/FUEL=17.5"

The bike had 1026 miles on it when it was dynoed...still 14 day plates:crackup:

When I look at the paper work 40 HP=17.5 AIR/FUEL but at 152 hp the AIR/FUEL was down to 13.4.

Like I said, I have no idea what the AIR/FUEL should be but the guy said it was good but could be better. When I scan in the results I'm sure you can get a better idea of what is going on but for now... asking me will not get you anywhere:wink:

I do plan on getting a power commander and at this point just slip ons...I know the TLR needed an Ivans and because the zx is fuel injected I'm sure it needs one as well...is this right?

just a side note, there was a Ducati Monster that dynoed 111hp just before mine if that helps get a feel for how the dyno was tuned in:dontknow: but either way the bike is a great jump from the TLR and I know I made the right decision.

ohhh ok, yeah i thoguth at max power it was 17 or so, could be jsut form the dyno spinning up and all it was lean. jsut shows how much they are de-tuned from the factory. 13.4 is good.

if you scan the afr through the stock cans the readings will be wrong no matter what - the cats burn off extra fuel and should read much leaner than actual.....

TO get a true afr you have to have a way to measure the exhaust flow before it goes through the cat (or get an exhaust system that eliminates the stock cats), then you can read it straight from the tailpipe.......

sheesh.

On a side note, tuning to an A/F ratio is not the best way to get power. Check out http://www.factorypro.com/ and read about why. About midway down on the dyno info section is where they start going into an explanation. Not to say that tuning to a A/F ratio won't get you close to peak power, it just won't get you all the power you can get.

Also, if this is done on a more-or-less stock bike, there is a gizmo in the bike that lets extra air into the header pipes for emission control purposes. If that gizmo was doing what it is supposed to do, then it has the side effect of making air/fuel measurements useless - false lean condition.

If you want a true air/fuel measurement, you have to temporarily plug the air hose which feeds that system. Remember to be a good little boy and make the system work properly again afterward :heyyou:
