So I replaced regulator,battery and relay on my gen4 and still didnt start. Took it to my friends and was able to diagnose that its the starter motor. I looked on ebay for a used one cause it is an expensive part. Any one have a clue if i can refurbish it instead of buying the whole thing? How can a starter motor go bad at 13k miles? I did flip the bike forward and landed hard on tank and tail thanks to an idiot that cut me off real bad.

How did you diagnose that the starter was bad?

Going threw the same issue with my bike, but I am trying to see if the problem lies in the circuit or the motor itself. Gl on finding a used inexpensive one.

P.S. A wise man told me you might be able to open her up and clean out any foreign debris and she mike work again.
