hey guys, due to an unfortunate accident that took my beloved 2008 GSX-R1000 yesterday morning i will be in the market for a new bike in the next few weeks. i have a the new gen zx-10r, new gen GSX-R1000 and the new S1000RR in mind. i am hoping to get some insight on the ZX-10 as far as serviceability and mod-a-bility lol and get a general consensus from people who own this bike and use it like i do.
for me, my GSXR i had i made it a street/strip bike. it dyno'd 197whp and 93torque and weighed 380lbs with no fuel. it was a very fun bike and lots of mid range torque. i ride VERY tame on streets, i ride the speed limit in towns and cities and just like to go for casual rides, every now and then on a country road where there is no cars, houses or people i will just give it a go through a gear or 2 and get it out of my system. i like to drag race at the local strip and like to enter events and want to enter 1/2 mile speed run events as well. i like having a bike with good roll on torque but my favourite is a top end rush feeling when dropping it down a gear. i mod the shit out of my bikes and like the simplicity of gaining access to various parts (example is the new gixxer being able to remove the transmission without removing and tearing apart the whole engine - stuff like that is a HUGE bonus to me) not sure what the zx10 is like
for you new gen owners, can you comment on:
-serviceability
-how the bike in general performs on the street (roll on torque and general behaviour)
-drag racing
-can the engine handle any nitrous or boost? i have a turbo kit on order for my GSXR planning to make 350whp but not that my gsxr is destroyed i am no longer turbo and not wanting to rebuild another engine in order to do so
how do they compare to new gixxer 1000 and s1000rr?
i also found a 2019 zx10 double R, 1 of 500 made for 18k canadian price very tempting
