Hey everyone, the previous owner of my bike cut the spring spacers in the forks to lower the front end. I'm trying to return it to stock ride height, but cannot get to the locking nut for the fork cap due to the shorter spacer.

I have a racetech spring compressor as I used to do a lot of forks, but never dealt with this problem before. How the hell can I get them apart to install the stock spacers and a new set of seals?

Try getting another person to pull the cap up while you're compressing the spring.

If that doesn't work, remove the entire cartridge with the bolt at the bottom of the fork. Take that out and the entire thing should come out.
