Converting to HID

I've been thinking about converting to HID setup, and after reading the forums, I still have a few questions.

I thought I'd be spending $150+ on the setup, but it seems much cheaper than that, which makes me wonder if I'm looking at the whole picture.

DDM Tuning: HID and LED Lighting

These seem too cheap. Am I looking at the wrong ones? I figured I'd go with this one:

55W seems the way to go. But then I heard talk about drawing too much power, so I may need to add a relay or something. Yes or No?

From another thread I gathered that the bulb types are H11 (Low-Beam) and H9 (High-Beam), and the bulb types are based off personal preference. The 6k seems to be real popular among the forum. Figure I'll go with that.

But I didn't see the option to pick two different types of bulbs. There's only one bulb type option.

2 Mixed Bulb Slim ballast HID kit (AC)

This site product has two bulb options, at twice the price. But it's still cheaper than I expected it all to be.

Can someone clarify these things for me?

TLDR:

1. Which specific HID kit is the best to get? *Plug and Play **Link please

2. Do I need to be concerned with getting anything else to go with it? (ie. Relay due to higher power draw?)

35w kit from DDM. You're likely to have to buy a single kit of each bulb type. Skip the 55w which can melt your wiring if you don't add an extra circuit. The 35w is plug-n-go.

5000k on the bulb temp will be pure white. 6000k has a hint of blue to it. The whiter the light, the brighter it will look.
Thanks again Sky!

Can I buy 2 of these:

And get both headlights to utilize the low/hi-beam function? Or is it not that simple? If so, which bulb type would I get? I don't see the H9 or H11 options.

Or is this the way to go:

No, you cannot use the dual High/Low setup that you linked. They won't work. You need a dedicated bulb for each function. H11 for the low beam and H9 for the high beam. That's just the way it is. You need 2 of the kits here, 1 in each bulb type in whatever color you want (recommend the 5000k color):

I just ordered the 6000k kit on ebay for $26.99 - This is the 2nd kit I've bought with zero issues. I'll take some pics once they get installed. Looked great on my last Gen 2 & the extra lighting was a huge difference
Ebay and they are called Xentec search that on eBay and they are great you can get a H9/H11 set for around 25.00 if you look good. and they have warranty. but look for US locations .
Where are you all putting the ballast on these installs? Velcro, brackets?

Double-sided foam tape on the inside of the fairings works best for me.
The inside pocket/space that covers the inner fairing.
Got my 35W kit from DDM and no worky. What the hell am I doing wrong?
I'm pretty sure I had to swap the wires in the connector. I remember reading about this when I did mine 6-7 years ago.

never mind-I saw your other post that you got it figured out.
Thanks for chiming in. Turns out it wasn't polarity, just a general connection problem.
