Sorry to hear that. Sounds like the cables aren't the problem then.
When you pull the lever, the clutch DISENGAGES and disconnects the engine from the transmission. When you you release the lever, the clutch ENGAGES and connects the engine to the wheel. So, what are you saying here? What won't engage? What is happening when you pull the lever? Either way, it sounds like the clutch cover has to come off to look at the internals a bit.
