Changing tc settings question

4222 Views 15 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  SkyDork
When I first got the new bike me and the dealer set tc to 5 for "break in" and now that I got a few miles I wanted to lower it, well I can't. The tc isn't even an option when I press and hold select button, and then scroll up or down.. It just goes right from ebc to Kqs skipping over tc. I've tried it a bunch of times with no luck so if any gen 5 guys can give me some ideas I'm all ears.
Thanks

If I recall correctly, you don't select the TC level from the settings menu (which you are in, when you hold down SEL).

Turn on the bike, and put it in neutral. Press and hold the up or down arrows (left handlebar) and release after one second to select TC levels 1-5.

Doesn't have to be in neutral. You can do it whole riding too. Not sure if there's a speed that it disables changing though.

I just got finished riding and realized you are correct. There doesn't seem to be a speed that it disables switching at. I was able to switch on the freeway at 65 mph without issues.

I think I was getting confused with the LC... which must be engaged in neutral. All these features and how to active them blend together for me. :headshake:

Just make sure the throttle is completely closed if riding when you change the TC.

Yeah, the mode change is restricted while riding if you're accelerating. You need to roll off the throttle or at least hold it steady. Same as the Gen 4.

On the Gen4 one could change the power modes too on the move IIRC. Wondering why they removed that option on the Gen 5.

Yeah, you can. The Gen 5 and Gen 4 should be the same. You can change modes while riding as long as the throttle isn't open at all and the bike isn't accelerating. If you close the throttle or hold it steady, you can change modes while moving.

As I stated, if you have the Woolich gear, you can reflash it so you can change modes any time while moving, even accelerating. On the Gen 4 that is.
Think it says throttle closed in gen 5 manual but if I remember correctly it said the same in gen 4 manual lol
I still can't believe I couldn't adjust tc settings

Where is that setting in the woolich software?
You can't set the TC to off on the GEN5 while moving. Sure hope someone figures that one out.

That's why I turn it off every single time I start the bike (when not at the track). :)

It's not available yet on the G5. It's under the "advanced settings" and is a checkbox for the G4. I'm sure it won't be long before Woolich puts out an update with that feature added for the gen 5.
