Hi

does anyone have vid or pics of changing a shifter shaft on a zx10r.

I have to change mine and just looking for some pics of doing it

I heard it is pretty straight foward

You can download the workshop manual for G3 off of this site. It does have pictures but you remove the clutch pack the circlip on the outside by the shift linkage, and then it just pulls out from clutch pack side, if your bike has normal engine oil level and is on a stand then you don't need to drop the oil.

Cool , any special way of lining up new shaft?

It can only go one way. It's not round. The throwarm for it hooks onto a pin behind the clutch basket. It will take longer to remove everything to get to the shaft than it will to replace it.

Done it this morning! not to bad of a job, had it done in about 1 hour.

Will test it tomorrow

Wow ! I did this on my G2 a few years back, and it took me a lot more than an hour !
