The topic was talked about between a few friends, all we came up with was in 05 they added a slipper clutch. Were the any other changes between 04 and 05?

The '04 also had a slipper clutch, in fact the only changes I'm aware off is the sticker colour, from gold-ish to red (I think)...but I have been wrong before :wink:

Just a few differences. Both had a slipper clutch the 05 they went with a stiffer spring rate in suspension and I believe it was a different shift star in trans. to help smooth out the shifting.

one for added note

the 04 generators blew up ruining the motor
they fixed this issue
and the only thing i could brag about after i bought a 05 zx10r that was bone stock for the same price by buddy got a 04 10r with full acra pipe power commander and every other mod imaginal for these damn bikes

just my 2 cents

Did all of these changes amount to an increase in hp for the 05's over the 04's? Or were they made for some other reasons?
