I am about to pull the trigger on some new leathers. Problem is nothing matches my bike.

I know that's lame, but it matters a little bit to me.

I am purchasing a Teknic Violator, and getting a smoking deal on it too.

They come in three versions.

Black/white/silver http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=1153

red/black/white
http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=2092

blue/black/white
http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=2093

My bike is the pearl solar yellow when it is in street form and at the dragon. When its on the track, its green like it should be.

I guess that black is the way to go, but I am not sold on the black/white/siler.

What do you guys think?

BTW, the price I am getting is $150 less than sportbiketrackgear.com and its shipped. Let me know if any of you wants the company name.

Buy Vansons and newer look back.... Best money you will ever spend..
I hear you, but budget prohibits that. I really don't have money for new leathers, but I am afraid my current set won't pass a good inpection.

The teknics were originally 800-900 dollars and I am getting the violator for 395 shipped, so unless another suggestion is around that price range, then its not possible.

I know teknic is not the best, but this version got a great review from sportbiketrackgear.

i think they said this and a gericke suit was the best for less than 1000 dollars.

Thanks for the advice though.

What size jacket you wear.. I have a spare that I might be interested in selling...
I am normally a 48, but I think I was going to order the 50's in the teknic for room for a chest/back protector.

Go for it! That's a great deal. Yea it would be nice to have a splash of yellow in it but that neutral color scheme would go w/ just about any bike if you happen to get a different bike. If you got helmet w/ some yellow in it. You should be good to go!

Black and white, can't go wrong.
yeah, the more that I think about it, the more I am set on the black/white/silver. I think its just the silver part that bugs me.

I hope so!

My current set has seen better days and I just sold off the bottoms to my 2 piece set. Now they pretty much have to come in time. I am pulling the trigger in the morning. The deal is too good to pass up.

I will be coming hard like a poser at Jennings. Race plastic with numbers (if i can't peel them off first), brand new shiny suit, and slow as hell. Do you thing my suction cup mohawk will pass tech? Are you sure you still want to roll with me?

That's a hellofa deal for those Teknics. Teknic may not be Alpinestars or Dainese or RS Taichi, etc... but it's one of those great suits for the money. Fast Bikes, Performance Bikes, etc all promote Teknic leathers as very good buys all the time. I've got a Violator from about 2004 in a silver with black. Had one lowside at about 35 and it received almost no damage. I have a Teknic Violator jacket and Chicane pants; both in all black. Violator jacket is fully perforated (excellent airflow for leather) and not as hot in SoCal's summers as you might expect. (Of course, sitting at a red light for several minutes w/o airflow does get a little uncomfortable...)

One last thought.. When I got my leathers repaired at a local shop, the scraped portions that needed color retouching were done with excellent color matching. Perhaps you can have a local leather specialist darken the silver portions of your violator suit and make the silver more of a grey color. Might make it more neutral and more to your tastes? Personally, the silver with the black is already pretty neutral IMO. You could do much worse. Have you seen gold tone on Spidi leathers? yuck...

i hear ya on the matching the bike. but i tend to try to go with matching gear. try to stay neutral so if i paint my bike, or buy something else im good to go. don't knock teknic, that was my first set of leathers. i busted my a$$ on my gsx-r, highsided at around 100+ and survived. yeah it busted a few seams out, but i walked away with only a bruised heal. so for the money you getting a good suit.

I would stay nuetral with the colors, that way it would go with any bike color you happen to own.
