I am working on changing spark plugs and valve cover gasket when I noticed a crack in the bracket the frame sliders is on..Should I be concerned with this? Anyone know the part number? I cannot find it anywhere.
Thanks

Yes, you should be concerned.
Yes, I would get a new one. Part number is based on what Gen you have. You didn't provide a description of your bike. I would also check the frame and other areas for cracks as well while you are at it. Those things don't just break all on their own.
My bad 05 gen1. There was scuffs on the frame slider that makes me believe it might have been dropped on that side which could have been enough to do it. Nothing on the frame so far.
I have gen1 with same frame sliders that bracket is oem part and should be changed asap
I believe the bracket for a 2005 ZX10R is part no.s 32190(R) 32190A (L). About $50 new. I'd ask some vendors on here if they can get you one. You can get them on fleabay but you never know what condition they are in when you get used.
Any idea on part number? Been looking on partzilla but can't seem to find the diagram it is shown on.

See my above post
About 42 bucks on partzilla plus shipping.
I think you are correct! Thanks
I am never wrong. :grin2: Well, unless Mrs Honez says I am lol..:2bitchslap:
Well I appreciate it! Any idea if there is a good how to on valve cover gasket replacement? Trying to determine what I can get away with not removing.

Use a manual, and torque everything to spec. Over torqueing the bolts will only give you grief later, especially the valve cover bolts.

Here's the manual if you need it.

I would recommend new spark plugs while you are already in there. I used NGK Iridium CR9EIX.

Good luck.

Thanks! Bought the same plugs myself. Gasket should be coming in today. I just keep finding more problems the further I dig, so hopefully nothing too crazy.

I know the feeling: http://www.zx-10r.net/forum/f28/broken-valve-retainers-claim-another-victim-310281.html

I'm now going through a very similar process. Still waiting on a few parts and will hopefully have things back together in the next few weeks.

It's worth considering the KLEEN air mod if you have an aftermarket exhaust and it hasn't already been done.

Any info on this Kleen mod? I have an aftermarket bolt on but not full exhaust.
