Hi all,

Just purchased a 2016 ZX-10R with 50 miles on it, completely stock. I've never needed to break in a bike before, just wanted to ask if for any reason I need to keep the bike stock during this period or if I can start modifying the exhaust & fuel mapping? Thanks!

I've owned 30 bikes. I've never broken in a single one. I've always modded them right from the get go. Race teams take a stock bike, 0 miles, install mods, mapping etc, hit the dyno and run the piss out of them. I have zero hesitation around doing what you ask.

I only every used the 40 mile break procedure. It's the poor mans dyno break in. Very effective at bedding the rings and can be seen on the dyno for minor power improvements over factory break in procedures.

Thanks for the responses! The probability of me keeping the bike stock, much less following the manufacturer recommended break-in procedures, was slim to begin with.. at least now I don't have to feel bad about it!
