Bought a 2015 Left over today

So the plan when I sold my 13 was to buy a street glide, after checking out prices, packages and what I would be getting for the money I decided to just keep hanging out in the street bike arena for now. I got a pretty good deal on a 2015 30th ann non abs from a dealer right up the road from me. Basically I ended up with the same bike I just sold minus the mods and the color. I look forward to adding my touches to it.

Didn't know you sold the '13. Last I noticed was that you sold your monkey suit which I thought curious. Were you thinking Harley? Now back to the '13. Well get the extended as I just found out from the dealer that our cam chain is rated between 35-45k miles before needed replacement under warranty. I'll post a new thread about the dealer experience and whatever when bike is done. But get the extended, for sure.
I got the 5 year extended on the bike, I was up in the air about it but for $1100 it was a no brainer.
Your dealer hosed you on the extended warranty, it can be had for ~$400

Owell, I got the bike cheaper than most people are asking for their used ones, so im cool with paying what they were asking.

Good to know and glad I got the warranty. Where can can one get the OEM Kawasaki warranty for $400? Directly from Kawasaki? Please let us in on the deal.

Cool I want to do that for my bike.my dealer wanted 800 for it.i didn't do it yet.if you don't purchase the extended warranty right away I think you have a year to do it.you just have to do it before the 1 year warranty is up. That's what my dealer said when I bought the bike at least.
Welcome back JB! We knew you'd be back. Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha!

haha, still kicking myself in the nuts. I liked the look of my 13 over this one. The gold on the rotors and forks kills the look of the bike IMO.

Not a fan of the gold bits either, but the 30th Anniv colors make up for it. You got the best color scheme there. Very cool! You'll get over the color issues once you crank on the throttle. :ayyy:

Can't recall what I paid but I think it was more than $400. CA prices. Haven't had a warranty claim yet but five years for $200/year, $15K bike, not unreasonable. Shop treats me very, very well.

That said if one can get a price like $400 confirmed before buying the bike elsewhere, pass on the extended at the local dealer and buy it later. I think we get a year to pick it up.

Cool thing about extended warranties?

They are refundable.

Get your money back. Then if you still want it go buy for $400.

Instant $700 back in your pocket.

We need the extended on this bike for the stupid cam chain alone. The dealer said that the cam goes out between 35 and 45k miles. I'm just under 41k on the 13. Up here he said that job would be 1000 or do it myself. So the warranty at DH just paid for itself. If I had the extended on the '11, I would still be on that bike. So, I'm in the same situation as Juice but worse. As I bought a new one. lol Now I'm thinking he '11 cam went out and cause the failure. It ran strong right to the end.

Very true. I think you have one year to decide to add the extended.

If it's just a cam chain, could be done during a valve clearance check. Simple as pie, on the side of the cylinders. Preventive maintenance, do it at 30K miles.
