IMO sounds like a fuel issue. Fuel pump is a good place to start. I don't think the throttle body is the issue, because they are purely activated by cable (edit: right, secondary throttle bodies. Gen2 has those too, right? IMO throttle body is still unlikely if they worked before and did not get plausibly damaged by the fall.). I'd check throttle cables and throttle play if you haven't already.
If fueling is good, then maybe its a spark issue. You described it as "dying" engine, so maybe it lost spark? Since you already have a good battery, this would hint at a general electrical problem.
