I'm seriously considering the '16 ZX10R to compliment my current S1000RR. The ZX here is sold restricted but apparently an ECU flash can derestrict. Anyone here own both? Any comparisons would be welcome.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Can you elaborate on the hiccups as I don't think the 2017 bikes have reached here yet?The latest gen zx has had some hiccups compared to the 4th gen but im sure they are sorted out now in the 2017+ bikes.
there is a transmission recall i know for sure but other than that im sure small electrical stuff that people were just fixing with woolich tuning software. Can you elaborate on the hiccups as I don't think the 2017 bikes have reached here yet?
I am certainly more experienced through twisties which is the reason I'm faster. I'm not sure which bike is more nimble as the ZX is a tad longer wheelbase then the BMW. However, my only experience on a S1000RR was highway so I would be lying if I told you which bike handled better. Dollar for dollar like others have said the ZX dominates for the money! Is that because your a better rider through the twisties?
Or is the ZX easier to turn in? IMO, the BM isnt the most humblest through the curves.
2 of our best WERA litre bike riders have experience on these 2 bikes, recent models. I asked both about the rides on the race track.I'm seriously considering the '16 ZX10R to compliment my current S1000RR. The ZX here is sold restricted but apparently an ECU flash can derestrict. Not the RSV4 RF? This is probably the most stunningly beautiful bike I've seen albeit rather pricey. The ZX is half the price of an RF here! The fastest guy at our local track (lap record holder) among other apparently switched from a R1 to the S1000RR all because of its ease to put down power. He originally was going to race a new GSXR but it was much more work to go just as fast. I never did hear what he thought of the ZX10R.
Really there isn't much of a difference to warrant having 2 of the near same bike. I would recommend waiting for another generation change to see further advancements regardless of brand. Besides the new S1000RR coming is probably going to be the new king. If you want to have the fastest bike on the road buy a Tuono 1100.
I've had both. I just picked up a new 2018 10R for a good deal (wheels in motion Chatsworth California) both bikes are nice but I'm done with the euro stuff. There just aren't enough options when you get these units. With the Japanese bikes there are lots of aftermarket items to choose from.I'm seriously considering the '16 ZX10R to compliment my current S1000RR. You can flash the ECU, get a race ECU, or buy the ZX10-RR which has the function standard.I've just seen that the quickshifter is 'up' only. What are the options for installing an autoblipper for downshifts?
wait for the 2019 BMW s1000rr. I think you'll regret getting a zx10 after riding a s1000rr just like i do.After seeing the soon to be released Gen 6 2019 ZX10R, would you guys wait for that or go for a discounted 2018?
