I came home after a week long trip to just about the worst site ever... opened the garage door... and the bike tire has a nail in it and is FLAT! I just picked up a pitbull rear stand, so I can get the tire changed out as my normal guy takes too long, and this guy won't take it off the bike... so I'm off for a new tire.

in the mean time: anything else that should be done while this tire is off? tips for getting in back on? I'm heading to the shop now, and hopefully get it on before dark... unless you guys say I need to do something I don't have.

Clean all the chain oil off of the inside of the swing arm. Clean the rubber axle seals (without getting dirt in the bearings). Put just a little bit of bearing grease on the spacers and also a thin coat on the rubber axle seals. Be sure to torque the rear axle and insure the chain is aligned straight and adjusted to within specification. Use a new cotter pin.
