Chad,
Just a suggestion..if you think the Chatterbox being attached to the helmet is cumbersome you may want to attach the unit by velcro to your bike instead. Then just run your cord up to your helmet. Just remember to unleash yourself before getting off the bike. I love my Chatterbox. All of my riding friends have them. Not only for communication but to listen to our music. Good luck to you.

My friends and I have the midland radios with the 18 mile range (only on a open field or line of sight) We paid about $80 for 2 with the chargers and a headset.

here for the radios ---->http://www.midlandradio.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5507

here for helmet headsets ---->http://www.midlandradio.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4178

I got rid of my chatterbox. The PTT button went out and stopped working, the unit itself stopped transmitting. The thing was only a month old. Got a new one under the warranty and same thing again. So I gave up. The midland radios have been great so far and I have had them for over 6 months with no issues!!

Here in Germany people don't use bike to bike communications to much. I'd like to have my chatterbox back, but they are not too common here.
