Hello everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself and my bike. I purchased this Gen 1 back in March of this year, it was in very rough shape and I thought that it needed a good home and plenty of TLC.

It started out life as blazing orange pearl, and upon closer inspection and a deep clean it became obvious that almost ever body panel was trashed.

You can see the terrible state of some panels.

with all that in mind reached to forum member MTE and picked up all his OEM Green plastics. Which were in amazing shape.

at the same time got an amazing deal on this beautiful BEET full exhaust for the Gen 1

when I got the tank painted I decided to also paint the side panels. And I have to be honest I think it changes the entire look of the bike for the better.

this is how she currently sits today. With plenty of parts on order. So stay tuned for more to come.

Holy shit! It looks much better in GREEN! And that NASSERT BEET exhaust is just bike porn in itself! Well played!

I'd tell you to go ride it now and show it off to everyone, but it might be better to put it in a clear bubble and not get it dirty. ;)

Also can anyone tell me the best way to remove the triple clamp? I want to get this powder coated. I already have the bolts that I can see removed but this thing won’t move an inch.

The clip-ons are bolted to it from below underneath each one. If you haven't loosened and removed those, they are holding the triple clamp on. If those clamps are loose for the clip-ons then you can slide the entire thing up and off. Provided you turn the bars all the way to the right to clear the frame lock edge.

Also made some progress on a side project for 10R…. I am not sure if anyone noticed it in one of the pictures above but I picked up this immaculate 08 swing arm. There is not a scratch on this thing

I have been slowly piecing together parts for swap. Picked up this 08 6R shock linkage and powdered that black as well

SUPER nice build! I'll have to go against the grain though and say that I preferred the orange.

I love everything Kawasaki except green. I'll bet that a lot of folks feel the same way but have a hard time admitting it here. :giggle:

Brake update.

when I purchased the bike it came with only one front rotor and caliper. So before she was road worthy there needed to be some improvements made.

first I picked up some Galfer line
Motor vehicle Automotive tire Automotive lighting Font Rim

then some Ti caliper mounting bolts
And a 2mm spacer for the calipers I am going to run.
