So i finally did it, after believing that i was immune . Dropped the bike @ about 10 mph leaving work on a cold night. Just lost the rear. Bike came out suprisingly well, better than my bruised up leg, lol. Well took her out for a test ride last weekend and realized that although she is tracking straight, the handlebars/top triple clamp are not straight while i'm heading straight. Is this most likely a case of the forks twisting in the triple tree or bent forks. Thanks for all input! :eek:ccasion1

If you have a front stand you can fix it. Just loosen the upper and lower tree then you can twist everything back straight. If you want to check the forks this would be the time. Take a wheel balancer and place the fork on it and spin, But you gotta have a front stand that goes under the head.

You need to loosen the front axle as well, and the top triple nut if possible along with all of the fork/triple pinch bolts. I loosen the lower pinch bolts and snug them up slightly enough to just hold the forks in place, stradle the front wheel between your legs (fender removed), and twist the bars back and forth until you find the center. Be sure to twist it back and forth a few times to remove all tension. You'll be back on the road in no time.
