I just got a permanent weatherproof lead for my optimate battery charger/tender. Has any one had any problems leaving the battery in the bike with the battery on charge for a long period?

Before I have always taken it out of the bike to charge.

Cheers for the advice

Cheers for that. I had to replace the battery on my old ZX6R a couple of times due to the alarm draining it too much to start!

Just need to remember to plug the tender in and I should be ok!

My battery tender is on the bike when ever I am not.
My 900rr sits for weeks on the tender.

Never had a problem, used them since 1994 when I got my 900rr.
That battery was still good in 1997 when sold the bike to a friend.

just be sure to get the tender that monitors the voltage and not the trickle charger...the real tender monitors and when voltage drops it comes ona nd charges it back up to the desired level and then cuts off again allowing the battery to "cycle" on its own...trickle charges will overcharge a battery after awhile...
