Just wanted to drop a line and get ya'll up to speed. I was involved in a work related accident on 6/26 and after two weeks in intensive care (5 days in a coma) and four weeks in the rehab hospital where they realized I have a skull fracture, I am finally home and getting back up to speed..........sort of. I still have not been released to return to work and that doesn't bother me as much as I have not been released to drive or ride my bike either. I told one doctor technically you don't drive a motorcycle you RIDE it but he failed to see the humor in that.
Anyhow it's good to be back and looking forward to BS ing with ya'll again.I'm keeping my fingers crossed because our local sportbike website is doing a private track day 8/30 and I'm hoping to attend.
See Ya'll

Good luck, hope you feel better. I had a sand related accident two weeks ago and not being able to ride my bike for two weeks is killing me. Hope you can get out there soon.

man that sucks hope ya feel better...what line of work are you in?? what happened if ya dont mind me asking?:eek:ccasion1
No problem, I am the service manager for our local Suzuki dealer, We were unloading watercraft trailers off the back of a semi. The trailers wer stacked on top of crates of watercraft so my feet were about 10 feet of the ground. Noone saw what happened but I fell backwards off the truck into the asphalt parking lot. I landed on my back and hit the back of my head on the curb. The impact made my skull "flex" and caused my skull to fracture over my right eye. I don't even remember going to work that day the first thing I remember was 15 days later waking up in a Jacksonville Rehab Hospital. It's been an eye opening experiance for sure and I am truly thankfull to be alive and sharing my life with my beautiful wife and our ten(yes really 10) kids. Life is great live it to the fullest........................................

_PS Irony, just the day before on my ride to work I was thinking, man I'm 50 years old, I've been riding my whole life, I do ride fast and I have never really been hurt.............Who knew what the next 24 hours would bring.
ENJOY TODAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey man congrats to you and your family on your recovery. I wouldn't worry to much about the 15 days you can't remember... I guarantee there is nothing that happened you would want to remember lol. Take it easy and let your nogan grow back together before you go test it out again.

Geez, really puts things into perspective, doesn't it?! The bike will always be there; take care of your family/wife. They need the reassurance that Dad's ok and won't be going anywhere...

Hope you heal well... !
