Are Gen 1's Still Alive?

I own a 2005 Gen 1, I’ve been absent from the Forum for a long time. My bike is in mint condition, 10,000 miles, Akra CF Hex exhaust, BST CF wheels, rear sets and numerous other mods. Looks brand new and runs perfect, still take for occasional blasts, but primarily ride my other bike.

I am curious how many other Gen 1’s are still out there being ridden actively? Is this bike disappearing from the world? Too old and obsolete? Would love to hear how many Gen 1 owners are still out there and riding it.

Wow! That has to take the cake as the trickest Gen 1 so far. Beautiful! All you need now are some BST carbon fiber rims! What have you done for added horsepower? Or is the motor stock? Great job!
It does have BSTs. The motor has JE 13.5 pistons, G1 kit intake cam, and kit spec head porting clean-up. It used to have a full Akra Ti system on it but I have removed it since it's basically irreplaceable at this point and not worth sacrificing to the track gods. I'm on the lookout for a similar, full system.
Evoked,

Stunning build. The Nissin calipers are gorgeous.

What is the clutch reservoir for?

yes, I love old bikes, they are fun to build. This one has some motor work (cut head, valve job, kit intake cam) too. I love seeing vids like this:
Amazing video! Saw it on my GSXS forum.,.. Your bike must haul ass! Have you tracked it, if so how did it hold up against the newer bikes?

What about your tail section? Do you think it’s still available?
It hauls ass but definitely doesn't turn inside of any of them. It might with a serious rider upgrade though. I don't think the tail is a one-off job.
so rickey gadson just set new real street natl record at mancup world finals in valdosta ga this weekend against all the busas/14r's/1k gizzers on a gen1 zx10 turbo. took a lot of ridicule settling on the gen 1 zx10 as his platform for this class. 7.55/194 in the 1/4. are they still alive, hell never died.
Your ole uncle Ricky is tough to beat on any bike.
New Discacciati rear caliper, custom narrowband ISR rear rotor, new tank, fresh paint on bodywork and tank. The old tank sprung a leak this past fall after a TD. Further inspection revealed about 5lbs of filler, bad welding, fiberglass, and concrete/fiber reinforced filler! It took a while to find a clean, damage/rust free tank.

Bunch of misc work and maintenance items done over the winter. New chain and sprocket. Got a set of Nissin calipers coming. Brakes are still not great, even with R6/Brembo master, new pads and braided lines. However, the bike runs so damn well. Hoping to head to Arkansas in April and get these tires scrubbed in.

Looking great!
The frame crack repair sucks since the frame needs to be removed completely to be done correctly. That said, it isn't that bad of a project, you need a lot of space to lay out and clean everything.

but you can also take advantage of the situation and powdercoat everything once you're done rather than some hack job spray paint

Getting mine to the track next month, tinkering with the brake setup, time to finally upgrade to an RCS to support these calipers and figure out the bolt/spacer combo to get the coolers back on.
