A buddy of mine has it for his 5th gen and bought the kit ecu instead so hes willing to sell it to me for a stupid low number. Emailed their tech support and one guy said it wouldnt and the other said it would work? curious if anyone has tried it for themselves?

My understanding is FT-ECU is licensed for each ECU. So if your buddy is selling you the FT-ECU license and ECU to which it's licensed then you shouldn't have a problem. I have done this.

If he's just selling you just the FT-ECU license then you are at FT-ECU's mercy on whether or not they will allow a transfer. In your case, going from a 5th gen ECU and license to a 4th Gen I think you are at their transfer rules mercy. My experience with FT-ECU is relying on their goodwill is not a good place to be.
hmmm yea idk if thats a place i would like to be either lol. they probably would tell me i was SOL.

here is the deal, will FTECU transfer the acount?
will the cables work on gen4?
or will he give you the account?
I emailed them and they said they did have ecu flashing products and wanted to verify with my ecu part number.. I haven't had a chance to actually get to the ecu to check it but they did say they have stuff to flash a gen 4 ecu.
yea i told them my ecu number and they did have a cable that was for it in the replacment parts section, but that still dont mean you can transfer the license and support like Anthony said. just will have to get the woolich

Gotcha. The only reason I don't wanna do woolich is the race tools are so expensive. With ftecu I can unlock the quick shifter extra and hook what ever sensor I want up to the ecu for a fraction of the price.
