Are they all the same? what about the mounting bracket?

What im trying to figure out is, my friend is selling his 2000 929 witch has a GPR v1 stabilizer on it, that he doesnt mind if i snag. So i wanna know if it will bolt right up, or if it wont work what so ever, or if i just need the correct mounting bracket?

yes I am, had it on my 05 636 and it was great, truthfully if you have the stock damp you can just change the oil out/rebuild it or send it in and they will. Will be just as nice as any of the other ones but at half the cost!! But it may fit, but worse case if you get this and the bolts dont line up you can buy the mounting brackets to make it fit, those dampers are universal...

The unit itself is the same for all bikes, but the mounting kits are unique for each bike pretty much. The mounting kits will often fit multiple years of the same bike, but will almost never fit a different bike.

Even on the ZX10, the mounting kits for gen1 and gen2 are different.

yeah thats what I was saying the dampner it self is universal but the brackets change bike to bike, worse case the brackets may cost 50-100 bucks and if your getting a good deal then grab it up!!!

I bought a used one of ebay a while back. Sounded like there was air inside so I bought a bottle of fork fluid and flushed it out once and then filled it with per GPR's directions. Haven't had a problem since.

Will probably pull it off again at the end of the season to check it but I'd say go for it if he is giving you the damper. The brackets for your bike are roughly 100 bucks like someone said earlier.

You can send it to GPR and they will install fresh seals and fluids for like $25.

I've learned to turn the knob regularly. It seems to keep the seals lubed.

Its an 05, no stock dampner.

Thanks. thats what i was looking for.
