Hey Boys,

I'm gonna have some time to kill in Kentucky next week, just wondering if anybody from the area can recommend sights to see, or places to go....hiking trails and that sorta stuff?

I'll have a cage and don't mind driving.....something within a few hours of Louisville would be cool.....

Any good BBQ style restaurants you can recommend would be good too.

Cheers,
Rem

May be a bit of a drive depending on where in Ky you'll be, but there is the Art of the Motorcycle exhibit in Memphis Tn. (Based on the Guggenheim Exhibit they did.)

There til Oct, 30th, I'd like to see it.

Nicky Hayden is from Owensboro, which being the total opposite of him, is a very lame town. :eek:t:

If your gonna be in Louisville though, you need to check out 4th Street Live, especially if your still gonna be here on a Sat. night, and maybe a Sunday to recover.

Also, if your into baseball, or just would dig owning a personalized bat with your signature in it(only $55, HOW COOL IS THAT  ), you need to check out the Louisville Slugger Museum. Or you can just do a drive by of the place just to see the Worlds Largest bat propped up against the building out front :spit:

there's the GM plant in Bowling Green that makes the Corvette. There is a museum there too. I wouldn't make a special trip there, but if you are going that way, you might want to stop and check it out. Jim Bean is made in KY somewhere.

don't eat the jelly they make in KY; it tastes bland, but it goes on real smooth. :eyecrazy:

Speaking of this, you can visit a bunch of distillers on the "Bourbon Trail", one of which is the Jim Beam facility which is only like 30-45 minutes outside of town, not sure about the others on the list, but that's what mapquest if for right?

Thanks guys, all great ideas....just what I wanted

I have a few visits in KY, starting in the southwest of the state, then I just kinda picked Louisville to hang out for the weekend before I continue on up to Illinois for the rest of the week.

Cheers,
Rem
