So most know i moved to socal. Base lodging doesnt have the internet so i had to resort to joining tmobile through starbucks till i get an offical place to live.

What cracks me up is that its 0900 socal time, and i am waiting for the office to call me to come in, so i headed over to starbucks to check my email etc. and there has been a line of over 15 people deep since i have been here for 20min now and running strong. I mean, they are waiting outside the freakin door just standing here like this is the best shit since sliced bread. i think its like there is crack in there to keep people coming back for more and more and more.

What is it that says you must pay $3 for a freakin cup of coffee? Now granted yes, i am guilty of getting the frozen drink for the past few days, but only, and only b/c i have been coming here for a week now and needed something to drink.

But people go well out of their way to get out of their car, get a shitty coffee, and carry on.

SHOULDNT THESE PEOPLE BE WORKING!!!!

My prediction, in 10yrs or less, starbucks will be sued like the tabacoo companies for addicition of some kind to their coffee products. mark my words, hell, it may already be in the works.

Strange thing is that a test of major coffee brands showed Starbucks to have the least amount of caffine. Plus it's not that great.

Last time I was there, they spoke like that. Damnest thing. And they thought for sure, like, I'd seen a cattle drive through downtown Houston and had a oil well in my back yard. Scary thing is I think they were serious.

Makes me sad. I hate the word trendy.
Something had to replace the TCBY yogurt fad.
Our local "news" even has a trend tracker.

I used to see the parents getting nasty coffee drinks for their (often fat) kids all the time in Coconut Grove.

I used to work at a mall, the saddest thing was watching these huge, even morbidly obese people balancing a small paper plate on their table of a lap and tear away at that cinnabon with their plastic fork.

Chick I knew needed a new car.
Bought a nice little SUV, but goes on to tell me, "they are trendy right now." ARRRGGGHHHHH great reason to buy.

May have been Kevin Smith? of clerks in an interview, the other day said America is becoming like a Flintstones cartoon's scrolling background."McDonalds, walmart, wendys, starbucks.... then it just loops over and over no matter what city your in." Great analogy.

No character left, small business's gone- franchises and large corporations in.

Sounds like Tim Horton's, anywhere in Canada ...

They just opened up a Tim Horton's in Kandahar to serve the Canadian military, who couldn't get by without their fix. I'm serious!
