All,

I just basically gave ANIKI_THE_EXILED a minor tounge lashing. Am I right or wrong?
He's offering Gen 1 carbon parts for sale below..

Two piece chain gaurd $45.00
Clutch Cover $35.00
Carbon fiber rear fender with gold mesh $135.00

Package deal for $200.00

ALL PRICES INCLUDE SHIPPING COST

According to him, he has had numerous offers for the complete package. Probably more than he expected. Then wants to start a bidding war when he sees that he can possibly get more $$ out of the deal.
Should he..
A) Sell to first come, first serve, first pay customer at his original asking price for the package
or
B) Change his mind mid stream and start a bidding war to see what he can get out of the deal.

I know everyone would want to get the most out of their sale as possible, to include myself. However, I told him that was bad buisness. If he wanted bids initially he should have asked for bids. Otherwise he should have stuck to his guns and sold to the first customer who met his initial asking price, regardless if it was me or someone else on the board. For the record. I'm sure someone else met and agreed on his price before I did.
It's called ethics people.
Maybe i'm wrong. What do you all think?....chime in

I was in that thread before anyone even posted up. I was going to call dibs on the cover but have instead watched the thread. I agree if he wants bids...then say so upfront. I know if I called dibs only to get outbid I would be pissed! JMHO

Yeah, bad buisness. If you offer something for a price, sell it for that. I play by the dibs rule or the first PM I get has it at the agreed upon price. Sad thing is most guys will try and jew you down a few dollars no matter how low your prices are. Some cheapscapes out there haggling over 20$.

I always see a first come first serve thing, even though on here I have bought things from members and we worked things out so it fell on a good week if you get what I mean, but on top of that the price thing is just bs if hes trying to make people bid, ebay is for that kind of stuff not here!!! This is a hole sale place in my mind, you state you price and get it, if not make corrections and try again

ebay is for bids. if you are offering stuff on here, then fix a price. haggling is alright. bidding is ridiculous
Ebay charges to sell something and even charges if you don't end up selling something. Then if you're receiving funds through paypal, there's also a charge. So why not try to cut some of your loses by not going through Ebay and sell it on a forum where you know the people on here know exactly what you're selling and know that the people will want or need it. I guess you like getting asked "will this fit on my 1992 fzr 600" and having to pay to answer such questions hahah

This is how business SHOULD be done. This guy got offered much more than the $30 per pazzo lever than he wanted. I almost said screw it thinking it would become some gay ass bidding war. He turned around, pm'ed me and sealed the deal at his original price.

I spoke with him on the phone and he said he wanted his original asking price, not interested in bids. A gentleman 100%. The levers were prsitine BTW.
