Aftermarket Exhaust

Hey guys,

Was wondering what aftermarket upgrades everyone has for an exhaust. Full system vs slip on, etc. I was thinking of a slip on only since i read the stock headers are titanium and are pretty good quality for stock parts and it would save some money to upgrade other areas of the bike and my main reason for doing it would be to spruce up the looks of the bike. Some options i had in mind are LeoVince, Akrapovic (definitely would look mean, just not sure about the whole 755 dollar thing), Scorpion, Yoshi (had a TRC Carbon Fiber on my old R6 and it looked and sounded good so i figured it'd be safe bet on the ZX), Austin Racing, and M4. I've read about graves and two bros but have heard very mixed reviews. Also, in some instances I've read that Two Bros for example would run like dogs if they weren't dyno'd while alot of the other mentioned exhausts would run fine with just a slip on pipe without any fuel management change (a PC could be on the horizon in the somewhat forseeable future). Can anyone elaborate on that? Let me know what you guys have and what you like/don't like about the pipes. Thanks in advance

I Loved the M4 Slip-on until I got the ARATA Full. I initially (and mistakenly) felt that with a literbike producing this much power that I wouldn't really notice the difference between a slip-on and a full system nor would it make any difference for my intended track use etc. Once I experienced the difference though I quickly changed my tune...

I had a full Muzzy exhaust which look and sound good but recently swap it for a full titanium Ti Force that im very pleased with.

This is a thread that wil pull up a lot of opinions on the matter. Most people here dont like Two Brothers pipes. Akra, Arata, Muzzy, Leo Vince will all come well liked by many. Scout swears by a Graves slip-on. With any exhaust change, it is advisable to have the bike tuned to compensate for the altered (less restricted) exhaust flow which can lean out a motor. Having a proper tune works for more power, better efficiency, better overall running and helps the motor maintain its longevity.

Most slip-ons will be around the same power gain, ~5hp or so. Full systems seem to have a larger range of increases. Its also not just the peak power gain to be noted, the midrange boost and such should always be considered (area under the power curve).

Hopefully that helps you out a bit.
I understand the main benefits with exhausts options is to remove the CAT. Either using a Slip-On with a CAT delete option but maintaining the OEM headers or via a full system.

This is what I like about Suzuki's new GSX-R muffler design, it is hideous and conforms to the bureaucratic nightmare that is EURO4 regulations but by replacing the muffler you get rid of all that crap including the CAT. Feels like a manufacturer middle finger to the idiots who spend their day behind desks trying to tell everyone what to do. ))
Thanks for the input guys. The more opinions the better so it's good to hear what everybody rides on. In terms of fuel management, any thoughts on bazzaz vs of? I found this on revzilla and it looks like this controls air to fuel but doesn't require remapping?? Anybody ever use one of these? As always thanks in advance. Also, anybody on here ride scorpion or Austin racing? Those look beastly but I haven't met a person who has one. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/bazzaz-z-fi-fuel-controller-kawasaki-zx10r-2011-2015

I don't think you'll find anyone that's not happy with Nels at 2 wheel dyno works. Just send him your Ecu in little lamb mode and get it back in BEAST MODE. I wouldn't put a fuel controller on a modern day bike like this. Better to just let your Ecu handle everything unobstructed, so to speak. Nothing else to fail either. Btw I happen to like the sound of the Yoshimura and like the look also.

Yes....BEAST mode it is! Just buttoned up my bike after installing an LV-10 slip on and plugged the ecu and BAM! scary quick now. 2WDW is awesome, quick turnaround time too.:smile2:
It's Hindle for me. Cheap yet effective without splitting ear drums!
I am running the full Akra system but as Neo said you can't beat the performance of the Hindle and the price .. I def glad i went full system over slip the midrange gains are very much worth it..
akrapovic developed the headers for the gen 5, so i went with akrapovic... the slip on costs the most, then you add the mid pipe later and you basically got a full system.. perfect blend.
