adjusting 08 rear shock preload

Hey guys, quick question on how to adjust the preload on the rear shock for the 08s. I weigh 165 lbs atleast with gear and I need to tighten up the preload a bit.

I know that the top ring has to be loosened counterclockwise with the help of that special tool for suspension or with a flat head/hammer...

So once this top ring is loosened, do i use the flathead/hammer combo to adjust the bottom ring? What constitutes an adjustment, a full rotation? Clockwise for stiff, counter for looser?

Any advice appreciated!

stiff is CW, light is CCW, and take it in little steps when adjusting. i usually do 1/2 turns then measure, till i get close on the rear sag. it doesn't take much to make a big difference. i use white out to mark the original positions on the preload collars so i don't lose track.
