No. Gen1 and Gen2 are completely different. Different bolt pattern and shifter length and style. Pegs and heal guards are different in appearance but can be swapped. Rear brake cylinder will bolt up to either aswell.

Not true - my Vortex were previously on a 2007 and I have a 2008.

OK, understood, the Gen2 and Gen3 are interchangeable. But what I stated is that a Gen1 and Gen2 are different. I have both rear sets at home and am 100% sure that the bolt to bolt distance is different.
